The public is invited to support the Yolo Basin Foundation by purchasing a
ticket for the first bicycle tour to view birds at the Yolo Bypass Wildlife
Area. The trip will take place on Saturday, November 17th from 9am to 2pm
and includes a picnic lunch. The participants will be accompanied by
Wildlife Area guide John Mott-Smith and Audubon Society expert birder Ken
Ealy. Fish biologist Ted Sommer will also be along to answer questions
about fish in the Bypass, and Wildlife Area Manager, Dave Feliz, will join
the tour at one of the stops to talk to people about the latest restoration
projects. The wintering waterfowl have been arriving in impressive numbers
and will provide wonderful viewing opportunities for the cyclists.

Bicycling will be on gravel roads, so wide-tired bikes are recommended. All
participants should wear helmets and bring binoculars.

A $50 donation is requested to participate in "Bicycles, Birds, and Brunch
in the Bypass." It is part of the Yolo Basin Foundation's new fundraising
activity, "A Gaggle of Gatherings," which consists of a variety of field
trips and parties throughout the year that are offered with fixed prices and
dates. Details of the gatherings are available at www.yolobasin.org. All
proceeds will be used to support the Foundation's *Discover the
      Flyway*school program.

To reserve a spot on the bicycling trip, please call the Yolo Basin
      Foundation at 530-757-3780.
