This might be a tad out of area, but I had a merganser slam on Salt Springs Reservoir in western Calaveras County this morning.  There was a fem/imm RED-BREASTED MERGANSER among several Commons and 5 Hooded at the SW corner of the lake.

There was also an adult and a first year BALD EAGLE on the north shore, a NORTHERN PYGMY-OWL calling along Rock Creek Road, at least a dozen light FERRUGINOUS HAWKS in Salt Springs Valley and a DARK MORPH on Waverly Road, a "RICHARDSON'S" MERLIN on Waverly Road, and a ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK on Flood Road just west of Waverly.

Also of note was a single LEWIS'S WOODPECKER along Olive Orchard Road and several VARIED THRUSHES along the entrance road to Mokolumne River Fish Hatchery.
