      Meeting Announcement
      "La Scrittore" Presentation

Jim Lacey who is a member of the Italian Genealogical Group, will
discuss his book "La Scrittore" at the organization's meeting on
Saturday, March 12 @ 10:30 Am at the Bethpage Public Library, 49
Powell Ave, Bethpage, Long Isalnd, New York. The meeting is free and
all are invited to attend! For directions call (516)931-3907.

"La Scrittore" is a historical novel which tells the tale of
an Italian womens journey from provincial life on a farm in Italy to
her turbulent new life as an Italian immigrant in the fast growing
and crowded First Ward of Newark, New Jersey. The book is based
upon a true story which describes in vivid details what it was like
for an Italian growing up in an overcrowded yet close-knit community.

The Author describes the success and sorrows of "La
Scrittore", the Lady Who Writes the Letters. Look for an
interesting ending to this story! You may discover that your
Italian ancestors encountered similar experiences in their attempt
      to succed in America.

The Italian Genealogical Group holds monthly meetings on the
second Saturday of each month from September /June to assist
Italian Americans in researching their ancestors. For more
information about our organization please visit us on the web at:
