- Hi there! I am new to this group and I thought I would introduce myself. I have built some plywood canoes and am about to build a prospector. Any advice would be appreciated.
- Hi Mike
Thanks. I will check the guides as you say.

I would look at why the blade wanders so much. Does it tend to follow the grain
in the wood? Does the blade really move side to side?
Check your guide blocks and make sure the are secure, tight and aligned. Also
check the tension on the blade. Make sure your upper guide is lowered as far as
possible. With plywood you should be able to follow the curve without much
trouble. A 1/4" blade is fine moving up to 1/2" would be too much.
I stay just outside of the line and use a disk sander to make the line
