      Counselor/Group Facilitator PT(AOD)

      Drug Abuse Alternatives Center is seeking a qualified candidate for the
      position of PT AOD Counselor/Group Facilitator for our Turning Point
      Program. This position works under the supervision of the Re-Entry
      Program Manager and the Residential Services Director.

      Qualified applicants must have a minimum of two (2) years related
      experience, demonstrate good group and individual counseling techniques
      and a solid understanding of addiction and treatment.
      Counselor/Facilitator candidates should be familiar with residential
      treatment modality & must have the ability to function effectively
      within a busy work environment. Candidates must demonstrate the
      ability to maintain appropriate boundaries with residents and staff
      both on and off duty, possess good written and verbal communication
      skills, and demonstrate the ability to maintain productive work
      relationships with residents, employees, the public and other external

      The Re-Entry Counselor/Group Facilitator maintains and enforces program
      policies, monitors resident compliance with all facility rules and
      guidelines, and monitors the upkeep and maintenance of Re-Entry
      facility. Candidates must be registered/certified in an approved agency
      certification program prior to interview (see details below).
      Candidates should be self-directed, must be able to engage clients in
      both group and 1:1 settings. Ideal candidate will be a dynamic
      presenter with the ability to engage clients in the residential AOD
      treatement setting. This position will not carry a caseload.

      *Applicants must be registered or certified to provide counseling
      services in an Alcohol and Other Drug program through an approved
      certifying body such as Breining Institute, California Association for
      Alcohol and Drug Educators (CAADE), California Association of Alchol
      and Drug Abuse Counselors (CADAAC), Indian Alcoholism Commission of
      California, California Association of Addiction Recovery Resources
      (CAARR). If registered individuals must be able to obtain certification
      within 5 years from the date of registration. Licensed professionals,
      providing counseling services in an AOD program, shall not be required
      to become certified as AOD counselors.

      Proof of Registration/Certification must be included with resume

      Schedule: Mon, Wed, Thurs 12:30PM - 4:00 PM Sat and Sun 8AM-4PM. 25.5
      hours per week.

      Compensation: 17.00 per hour (no benefits)
