Primary responsibility for caseload of clients with varying mental
needs throughout all phases of treatment. In conjunction with
staff, develops and updates client's treatment plan. In order to
readiness for eventual re-entry or transfer, develops and updates
treatment plan. In order to develop readiness for eventual re-entry or
transferm, the Care Manager is responsible for developing a plan that
reentry concerns, such as job readiness, life skills, as well as,
housing or continued treatment if necessary. In furtherance
well-rounded plan, utilizes internal and outside resources available

develops plan that coordinates Agency and community resources.

Responsibilities: Holds individual and group counseling sessions
with caseload. Assists clients in taking responsibility for own
giving "learning experiences", reprimands, enforced reflection times,
facilitating "confrontations". Monitor and dispensing

accordance with guidelines established by Walden House to satisfy
external administrative demands, and those of evaluating agencies,
accurate records on all clients.Community
Responsibilities: Leads house meetings and specialized groups,
teaches classes, plans clinical days and holidays. Checks
safety and takes responsibility for all clients as unforeseen
communicates with primary counselors. Performs urinalyses, body,
searches. Takes clients to appointments and outside
Role Model: Acts as role model by following norms,
demonstrating honesty and a willingness to listen to clients' issues,
responsibility for own actions.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONSPerforms first aid and CPR
and covers caseload of absent colleagues.Serves on committees, works
rotating schedule.Occasionally performs functions relevant to needs of
program, clients, or Agency outside the everyday functions of job (i.e.
fundraising, maintenance, ceremonies, community spirit activities,
etc.). EDUCATION KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
REQUIREDMust be a certified Alcohol/Drug Counselor. If
not, must be registered for California Alcohol and Drug Certification
of the State of California Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs
approved agencies within 6 months of hire. After registration, must
certification within 5 years.Knowledge of mental health
issuesKnowledge of group process, group facilitation, and conflict
resolution.Good writing skills with proper grammar, good spelling, and
handwriting.A clear understanding of and ability to demonstrate
professional ethics, boundaries, and judgment.Strong verbal and
interpersonal skills.Time management skills.Ability to manage diverse
population. Knowledge of addiction and addictive process.
EDUCATION KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS DESIREDKnowledge
of community resourcesKnowledge of stages of HIV, risk reduction
techniques, and how HIV is transmitted.Specialized knowledge such as,
skills, vocational training, anger management, incest, criminal
crisis, grief, etc.Knowledge of the TC milieu, 12 step philosophy, or
approaches to recovery BA is Psychology, Sociology or CounselingA
second language (particularly Spanish)Computer literacy
