      1. Name of library committee and structure, etc.

      Name: Libraries of AOM
Charge: as before: To make recommendations concerning the development of libraries of AOM.
Meeting structure: as is, twice a year, with telephone/technological connections.

      2. Evaluation points draft document

The library committee voted to send the document on the Executive Council for further deliberation with the understanding that the document would not be sent on to ACAOM until further review is made to allow for concerns about the document expressed by attendees are addressed. It is understood that this is a draft document and is set of benchmarks or suggestions to be considered as guidance in evaluating adequacy of library services.

      3. ICD-11

Information on the alpha version of the updated ICD-11 document was presented and members were urged to comment on the document. The committee expressed appreciation for the work of those who prepared the document.

      4. Consortium

A new subcommittee to pursue extablishing a consortium of OM libraries has been formed. It was agreed that momentum on this issue must be sustained and that a strong lead person may be needed to pull it all together. The members are:

Naomi Broering, Laura King, Candise Branum, Michelle Kopteros

The chair will work with this group and coordinate efforts in this area.

      5. CCAOM.NET

The library committee is up on the CCAOM.NET site and two documents have been uploaded. Library members are urged to join the group. As the Droople site becomes fully operational, documents from the Yahoo user group will be migrated to the new site. Eventually we may use the new site instead of the Yahoo user group; at this time the Yahoo user group is still the main vehicle for communication.

      6. OM libraries and social media.

At this time most libraries are not using Facebook or similar social media sources. OCOM has a facebook account with some activity, as does Tai Sophia. Using social media to reach potential library users may be a useful tool for outreach.

      7. Online test prepartion software.

The current practice seems to be that students do this on their own. Five Branches Library provides a link on the online catalog/research page to sites provided by NCCAOM.

      8. E-Books.

At present there is some activity in this area. PCOM subscribes to OVIDE; some libraries have attempted to work with EBSCO for services. Five Branches University library urges to use e-book services provided by nearby public libraries. To date the chair has not found sufficient relevant materials in e-book format for OM topics.

      9. Other topics

A lively discussion on a variety of related topics touched on subjects such as tensions between world views of the East and West, how to assess effectiveness in library services and related ideas. It was suggested that one tool would be some sort of assessment test for new students to be used as a base line, then assess in later years using the same assessment test to measure change in competency. The summary here does not encompass the full scope of this discussion.
