10 Secrets About Doug Davidson (Paul, Y&R)

      July 21, 2017 3:52PM

      1. Rick Springfield [ex-Noah, GH] is a very good friend of mine and I can play “Jessie’s Girl” on my bagpipes.
      2. Every morning, I wake up with my sinuses clogged. I don’t know why.
      3. I have a fear of heights. I was in Florence, Italy, with my wife, Cindy, and we climbed up this really old stairway outside of the Duomo Cathedral. My palms started raining and I just froze. Cindy continued on and got to see supposedly the best view of Florence, but I wouldn’t know. And the foreigners even made fun of me!
      4. I listen to classical music, even when I commute to work. I’ve been a fan since I was very young. It wasn’t until The Beatles that I opened my horizons.
      5. I’m an interior design freak. Luckily, Cindy and I are simpatico when it comes to style. I pick out the furniture and all the accessories, even down to the towels in the bathroom.
      6. I subscribe to the Financial Times; it’s the only periodical I like for news.
      7. I can turn my eyelids inside out, although I haven’t tried it in a while. I did it a lot during the disco age after I had too many cocktails.
      8. I have a bad temper. I’m quick to ignite. It’s something I’m working on.
      9. I’m an avid gardener. At my house, I’m always trimming, cutting, planting and watering.
      10. I have a fascination with ancient cultures, so I once took a conversational Latin class. The only problem was, I couldn’t find anyone to talk to.

      10 Secrets About Anthony Turpel (R.J., B&B)

      July 19, 2017 10:34AM

      1. I am the king of video games. You don’t want to know how many hours I play, and I love the Uncharted series.
      2. I really like Bob Ross. I don’t paint but he is very calming. He’s got the voice of an angel. He’s on Netflix, so I watch him all the time.
      3. I get a lot of comments about my deep voice, which I call “the Turpel sound”. Every male in my family has it. I just woke up one day and sounded like a 30-year-old. I’m starting to do some voice-over work because of it.
      4. I chose my monologue from Field of Dreams, which got me my agent, because back in the fifth grade, I performed in a competition in front of the entire school and won.
      5. If you want to see a 13-year-old me explaining how to use a Max Steel Interactive Steel & Turbo Sword, look it up on YouTube. It’s highly embarrassing — and it has close to 2.5 million views!
      6. I’ve got a lot of friends from Nickelo-deon and a lot of friends from the Disney Channel who are actors and animators and writers. It’s a cool crowd.
      7. I love McDonald’s. I try to be as healthy as possible and I think I’m the only person who orders the salad at McDonald’s — but their dressing is really good!
      8. Studying for my driving test is taking me forever. I always knew I was a procrastinator but I never knew I was this much of a procrastinator.
      9. I’m a huge RICK AND MORTY fan. It is so good but you’ve got to watch them in order because there’s actually a story arc behind all of it.
      10. I’ve never told anyone this before, and I probably shouldn’t be telling you, but I’m writing a book. It’s fiction, and it’s a real passion project.

10 Secrets About Tracey E. Bregman (Lauren)

      July 18, 2017 3:51PM

      1. When I was 18, I trained on the Spanish web, which is a 20-foot rope with a loop on top. I hung upside down, being held by just the loop, doing spins and gymnastic moves. Oh, and without a net.
      2. I’m a very fast knitter, but I was taught the German way, so it looks like I’m knitting backwards to the American eye.
      3. I have a genetic thing called “a naturally broken arm” that my grandmother and my mother had, and my two sons also have. If I put my arm out so that my palm is up, I can turn my palm down and the crook of my elbow doesn’t move.
      4. I’m obsessed with cars, especially antique cars, as well as sport cars and trucks. I love going to car shows.
      5. I’m horrible with anything that has to do with a ball. I just have this lack of hand/eye coordination.
      6. I have the extraordinary knack for picking the perfect watermelon, but I don’t have the same success with avocados.
      7. I’ve been told I drive like a guy because I tend to speed, which Lauralee Bell [Christine] can corroborate. When I was 16, I was driving her around the canyons and several years later, she told me that I scared the daylights out of her because I was going so fast.
      8. I’m very intuitive with my animals and can tell what’s wrong with them when they’re not feeling well.
      9. Love it or hate it, I do my own hair color, including my streaks, and I use products from the drugstore.
      10. I was born in London and came to this country when I was 11 with an English accent, although when I use it now, it’s gotten a little AB FAB.

10 Secrets About Karla Mosley (Maya, B&B)

      July 17, 2017 3:31PM

      1. The first Broadway show I ever saw was Starlight Express. One of my mom’s co-workers — he was a custodian at her job — one day said, “Do you want to come see my show?” He was the lead! I remember the lights going down, and this burst of music and light, and I thought, “This is what I want to do!”
      2. I am notorious for putting things on backward. I do it all the time. It’s really embarrassing.
      3. I keep angel cards in my dressing room for inspiration, and I leave them out for other people who happen to be using the room on a day I’m not working.
      4. I love summer. I love the heat, the humidity, and I love the feeling that everyone gets to slow down a bit.
      5. My favorite perfume is called Secret Sucré by Molinard, which I got when we were in Monte Carlo a couple of years ago.
      6. I crochet. I used to do it on set a lot [during her run as GUIDING LIGHT’s Christina] but I don’t do it as much because I don’t live in cold weather anymore. It’s great because it’s something you can do, put down and then pick up again very easily.
      7. I once ran into Stevie Wonder in Whole Foods. I had just seen him, like, two nights before in concert for the very first time. I turned the corner and he was picking out juice or something and I was like, “Oh, my God!”
      8. My favorite place is Hawaii, but there’s so much more traveling I would love to do. I’d go to Vietnam, Thailand, India, West and East Africa.
      9. The dream role I would love to play is Audrey in Little Shop of Horrors.
      10. My favorite holiday is New Year’s because as a kid, I loved being able to stay up late and spend time with my cousins and now, I like the idea of taking stock of the year gone by and thinking about what I want to put into the year that’s coming up.

Lifestyle Tips From Kelly Kruger (ex-Eva, B&B)

      July 18, 2017 12:09PM

Summer is here, and for a lot of you that means vacation!

I absolutely love to travel, but one of my least-favorite things in the world is packing. I get so frustrated with what to bring, and depending on where I’m going, if I forget something it may be hard to buy. I definitely love to have all my products with me, especially since my skin is so sensitive. I need to make sure that I’m not changing anything up. As it is, with the plane air quality and change in climate, chances are your skin may react. I wanted to try to help make your lives easier by putting together a travel beauty essentials checklist!

      Here is mine.

Face wash: My all- time favorite wash is IS Clinical Cleansing Complex and I found this adorable mini one perfect for travel.

Moisturizer: I am loving this Embryolisse moisturizer right now for daytime. It acts as a moisturizer and a makeup primer, so you don’t have to pack a primer!

Sunscreen: My favorite is Control Corrective Oil-free SPF 30.

Makeup: This is vacation! Don’t spend too much time getting done up. Stick to your basics — concealer, bronzer, blush and mascara.

Mini razor: Let’s face it: You do not want to forget your razor, and a regular one can take up a lot of room. Venus came out with this Snap razor that is a normal size blade, but the handle is an itty-bitty thing!

Liquid soap: This may not apply to you, but I am super-allergic to fragrance. Most hotel soaps have heavy perfume in them. I always bring a little liquid soap with me just in case!

Lysol spray and alcohol swabs: I never leave home without these! One of the first things I do when I get to a hotel room is spray everything down! Have you ever seen a 20/20 episode about what’s really in your hotel rooms? Just trust me on this one.

Mini Clarisonic cleansing brush: I want to keep up with my skincare regimen, but don’t have the space in my luggage to bring it all. Having mini versions of your favorite things makes life so much easier.

Dry Bar travel dryer: This has the same power as a normal- size dryer, but it folds up and is much smaller. I don’t know about you, but those hotel dryers make my hair frizzy. If you’re going to be laying on a beach somewhere, skip this one because you will have the ultimate beach hair, and who needs a dryer?

Protein bars: I know this sounds crazy, but I always travel with protein bars. It’s important for me to eat often, and sometimes a healthy snack is just not available, especially on an airplane. So I always have a bunch of these on hand.

      Interview!

Tuesday Fast Five With Courtney Hope (Sally, B&B)

      July 18, 2017 9:22AM

Courtney Hope (Sally, B&B) answers Digest’s five burning questions!

What is your go-to potluck dish?

“I make a really good banana bread. My grandma used to make it. I can also make a gluten-free one.”

What’s the most unusual pet you’ve ever had?

“I’ve had a lot of turtles and frogs. You know those tortoises that you see in the zoo? The ones that get really big? When I was younger, I had one of those and when it got to a certain weight, we had to wheel it to our nearest zoo. That was an interesting one. It was named Frankie.”

What would you title your autobiography?

      “Did I Pass?”

What’s a TV show that’s guaranteed to make you laugh?

      “FRIENDS.”

What’s the last thing you took a picture of?

“Chad’s [Duell, Michael, GH] dog, Bella. She’s in the backseat, moping, kind of falling asleep.”

      THE LATEST

      Scene & Heard

      July 24, 2017 11:16AM

      Photos at http://www.soapoperadigest.com/photos/scene-heard-4/

The passing of Oscar-winning Director John G. Avildsen had emotional resonance for B&Bs Sean Kanan (Deacon). "I got Karate Kid III from an open call and John, who directed Rocky, Lean on Me and the Karate Kid trilogy, plucked me out of the abyss and gave me a career," the actor recalls. "I was really overwhelmed when I heard and all of a sudden, I was taken back to 30 years ago, when I was a young actor hanging outside of Warner Bros. waiting for my chance to audition for him. I last saw John at the 30th anniversary of the Karate Kid films, and we all received a proclamation from the city of L.A. And not too long ago, I was interviewed for the documentary John G. Avildsen: King of the Underdogs. I spoke with his ex-wife, Tracy [Brooks Swope, ex-Vanessa, GH], and offered her my condolences. We"d still kept in touch. John will forever be a part of who I am as an actor and as a person, and I will always be grateful to him."

Eric Braeden (Victor, Y&R) has done it, as did the late Jeanne Cooper (ex-Katherine), and Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki) is in the middle of hers, but don't expect Peter Bergman (Jack) to pen his memoirs. "The problem with that is I'd have to remember stuff, which I can't, and I really mean that," explains the actor. "I"m amazed when people can talk about their second grade teacher and what kind of relationship they had. What? I can"t even remember the names of my high school teachers!" Still, Bergman can appreciate his good fortune through the years. "I have had an exceptional life," he declares. "It's been an amazing ride, but I don"t see how I would be able to remember what came first. No, you"re not going to see my autobiography. I'm actually not interesting in that way. I've had an interesting life but I'm not that interesting, so it just wouldn't be a very good read. And I'm not just saying that."

THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL Spoilers 7/24/17 — Forrester Heads to Monaco to Destroy Spectra Once and for All!

It’s time for the big fashion face-off between Forrester and Spectra in Monaco in these spoilers from THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL! But when Sally and Steffy go head to head, who will come out on top?

“May the best fashion house win,” Steffy declares on stage before the crowd. Although naturally, she’s assuming that Forrester Creations has the edge over the struggling upstart, Spectra Fashions. But with Thomas on Spectra’s side for this swimwear fashion showdown, might the battle be more even than she suspects? Not if Bill has anything to say about it! Intent on driving Spectra out of business so he can build his skyscraper, Bill notices Sally enjoying the sights and sounds of Monaco, and warns, “I wouldn’t get too used to this.”

Brooke is delighted to be back in Monaco again, and this time on Bill’s arm. ‘It’s so wonderful to be here,” she gushes. As Steffy warns the crowd, “This is where it’s going down,” she also informs the Forrester team that they’re going to bring their “A game.” But meanwhile, Sally confidently declares to Thomas, “Our designs can’t miss.” However, the redhead also knows how important this fashion show is to proving Spectra stands a chance in the industry. “We’ve got to win this,” she warns Thomas.

THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS Spoilers 7/24/17 — Newman Family Secrets Exposed!

It’s family time in these spoilers from THE YOUNG & THE RESTLESS. The Abbotts do a little bonding while the Newmans find their dirty secrets splashed all over the news!

Victoria, Nikki, and Nick are sitting on the couch with a bowl of popcorn watching Hilary’s show and all three are stunned to see the footage Hilary secretly taped in the parking garage. As Nick calls Victor “arrogant and heartless” and The Mustache responds by punching his son in the face, Nikki is aghast. Victoria looks uncomfortable, and Nick hangs his head in shame. “It looks like father and son have a very different relationship than what they show the public,” Hilary comments after the footage airs. Is there any way for the Newman family to do damage control on this one?

A little worried about her mother, Ashley enjoys a spa day with Dina and Abby. But as the women are relaxing, Dina startles her daughter and granddaughter with her frank observations about relationships! “Take my advice,” she urges. “Younger men ask for so little… and they give so much.” Abby and Ashley take the cucumber slices off their eyes and shoot each other a look. Is Dina talking about her own relationship with Graham, or is she hinting that Ashley should finally take the plunge with Ravi?

Gilles Marini Reveals Why He Was Thrilled to Return to THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL (EXCLUSIVE)

On the anniversary of her father’s death, Rena Sofer (Quinn, THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL) honored his memory with an absolutely beautiful remembrance of Rabbi Martin Sofer. She shared her heartfelt words along with a photo of a painting that her daughter, Rosabel, did of her grandfather.

“Six years ago today I lost my amazing father to cancer,” Sofer wrote. “He was the most special man in the world, especially to me. He raised my brother and I single-handedly from the time we were toddlers and he was there for us every day of our lives with a wealth of unconditional love and support. He was our father, our rabbi, our teacher, and our best friend in the world.

“For the last 13 years of his life,” she continued, “he lived with my brother and me which was the greatest gift in the world to us. From the day he was diagnosed to the day he died, we — my whole tiny family — never left his side. When he died, at home, he died in all of our arms and that was the last gift he gave all of us.”

Back in February of this year, Sofer shared an old photo of her and her father that looks like it was taken around the time of her run as Lois on GENERAL HOSPITAL in the mid-'90s. “Me and my daddy,” she posted. “I miss him so much!”

      https://www.instagram.com/p/BQIwERAASAQ/

A father’s love is forever, and the impact that Martin Sofer had on his family’s lives will never be forgotten. “I miss him every day and I am who I am today because of him,” the actress declared. “Thank you, Daddy. Rabbi Martin Sofer. The greatest man I have ever known.”

Martin left an amazing legacy in his family and they will continue to keep his memory alive for future generations.
