Group Description

The world of epic-fantasy has been, in my opinion, dormant for a rather long time...ever since Tolkien's works were over with. Terry Goodkind has changed all of that with his Sword of truth series. His greatly detailed imagination is amazing. This club's purpose is to inform and entertain those who are interested in Goodkind. The truth of the matter is that there are many other web sites offering a great deal of glamerous eye candy and information on the series, so as an extra to make this site worth your while, and if time is permitting, I hope to focus this site on deconstruction of Goodkind's novels and a lot of analytical philosophy and theory within the themes of the story. Though at the same time, I have no desire to turn into a boring highschool English teacher. This club will slowly become better and improved as time goes by. Hope you enjoy!

About myself: I started off with an interest mainly in Science-Fiction, being that before my grandfather died and my dad donated his books to a library I'll leave anonymous, our family held the third largest science-fiction/fantasy collection in the world. My grandfather was a close friend of Dr.Jack Williamson, who is attributed as being a sci-fi legend and is still alive (barely I might add).
As time has gone by, my interest has changed from Science-Fiction more to the realm of Fantasy. And yes I'm aware there is a magazine titled Realms of Fantasy, don't try bringing legal assertions against me =)

Terry Goodkind has announced the release of his 8th book, Naked Empire. The release date is sometime in July of this year I believe.

Goodkind's contract requires him to release up to ten books, and if he isn't over swarmed with fans bothering him and publishers badgering him, (to me he sounds like someone who prefers solitude from the masses), then I think it is safe to say he will write more after that.
