      Seattle has a roadway called the Alaskan Way Viaduct that is in really bad
      shape (it is likely to collapse in the next semi-major earthquake). There
      are plans underway to replace it. The plan at the forefront is to send it
      through a tunnel for 12 blocks. There would still be a bridge before it
      dives back into another tunnel. Obviously this isn't ideal, especially for
      those of us who want to get cars off our roads. Here is an article in
      Seattle's weekly alternative newspaper (The Stranger) about a better
      solution:
