Suburbs Are Bad For Children (was: An Argument for ...)

that cities are rife with crime in the streets. In fact,
though, thanks to cars, children are more likely to be killed
or injured in the suburbs than in the cities.
=v= Suburban kids are also more likely to succumb to leukemia
and cancers due to relentless exposure to automobile and SUV
exhaust. With nothing to do in the outdoors, many of them live
atomized and sedentary lives, with all the obesity and other
degenerative illness that entails.
=v= And let's not forget that crime in the suites -- so-called
"white collar" crime -- kills and injures and also rips off more
people than any other kind of crime.
