      Hi all,

Todd Edelman sent the following along. It won't be of interest
to most people, but those with a real interest in rail operations
and environmental impacts will find several interesting links
      on the first page.

      >>>Following is a PDF version of a presentation on some of the technology used in this vehicle. The presentation was given by Bombardier in Berlin in Autumn 2006 at an event organised by Allianz pro Schiene (German Pro-Rail Alliance) <http://www.allianz-pro-schiene.de/english/Events/> .

The following link, on the use of supercapacitors, may be
of somewhat broader interest. It shows great potential to
improve energy efficiency and reduce the percentage of
track that must be electrified to something less than 100%.
The technology has actually been in service testing for
a couple of years, with very promising results.

      Best,

      Joel
