Re: Alegria's Haul-out
Sure, we like visitors, although I would prefer that you get to see her
without all of the yard grit and grime on her, but please stop by. We are at
Svendsons. I don't think we'll be down there again until Saturday morning
but you are welcome to take a look anytime.
I was on the boat last night and found a note from the owner of CN 35 #21 in
the cockpit. Seems he works in the chandlery at Svendson's and saw Alegria
in the yard. The note was asking me to stop by and look him up which I will
do. Do you suppose this is the mysterious 3rd CN 35 in the SF Bay area or is
it another one? I'll see if I can get him to join this group.
Looks like I can just cut a few inches off the ends of the zinc that CN sent
us and it should work. Next time I'll be shopping for a generic zinc that I
can cut and fit as others mentioned. We have one of those zinc saver devices
connected to the hull zinc that supposedly isolates the zincs from galvanic
corrosion while the boat is on shore power. You might consider one of those
Denece if you are having problems in Alameda. The zincs have lasted pretty
well in Marina Bay in Richmond and the brass though hulls and shaft are in
good shape. We'll be moving to Brickyard Cove marina once she's back in the
water. Looking forward to being only 1/4 mile from the Bay!
