I replaced a number of stanchions on our CN-40ac nine years ago.  After 20 years Aluminum to Aluminum fuses together in salt water. Aluminum to stainless is much worse, with the aluminum being  severely degraded. I believe bronze to aluminum does not have the same effect and may be better than either.  I believe the replacement may have been intentional.

My 303's stanchions and stanchion bases are made of aluminum. But four of her bases were replaced in bronze bases by a previous owner; identical in all other respects. Can anyone tell me if there is a metal to metal interaction between aluminum and bronze? And where one might find a replacement stanchion base in aluminum?

      Many thanks -
