I really do believe its that long slow cook that makes the difference.  WoodI imagine a wood stove in the summer time would heat a house to miserable levels.

I once tried to make "pork n beans" or some folks call them "baked beans" from scratch.  The typical side dish one would have with BBQ.  Not the easy one

Cook them just the way they come out of the can. They are already pealed and they will slowly come apart. You can always try diced or crushed tomatoes, or use
