No. 2 Stanford heads across the Bay to square off against No. 13 Cal on
      Friday night.

      Oct. 31, 2006

COMING UP: Boasting the best record in the Pac-10, second-ranked Stanford
(19-2, 10-1) heads across the Bay to take on No. 13 California (17-5, 6-5)
Friday night at 7:00 pm in Haas Pavilion. The Cardinal looks to continue a
nine-match conference winning streak that includes a 3-0 win over the Bears
      on October 6.

ABOUT THE GOLDEN BEARS: No. 13 California (17-5, 6-5) hosts the Cardinal
after also picking up two wins last weekend in Arizona. The Bears topped the
Wildcats in four games on Friday, 33-31, 30-25, 26-30, 30-20, led by junior
Angie Pressey and freshman Hana Cutura's 17 kills apiece. On Saturday,
      Pressey tallied a season-high 25 kills to lead the Bears to a 24-30, 30-26,
30-26, 30-27 victory over the Sun Devils. Cutura and sophomore Morgan Beck
also added 13 kills each against Arizona State. After 22 matches this
season, Pressey leads Cal with 334 totals kills and 4.45 kills per game.
Junior Ellen Orchard paces the squad with 107 blocks on the year, including
13 block solos. Stanford swept the Bears earlier this season on October 6,
30-20, 30-22, 30-21, thanks to 13 kills each from senior Kristin Richards
and sophomore Cynthia Barboza. Sophomore Foluke Akinradewo also tallied
seven blocks at home versus the Bears. Stanford leads the all-time series
against California, 56-5, including wins in the last three matches.

USC SET FOR NOV. 10, UCLA FOR NOV. 11: Following Friday's match in Berkeley,
the Cardinal will host No. 6 USC and No. 5 UCLA next weekend in Maples
Pavilion. The dates for these two matches were switched earlier this season.
Stanford will square off against the Trojans on Friday, November 10 at 7:00
pm, and will then take on the Bruins on Saturday, November 11 at 7:00 pm.
Saturday's match against UCLA will be broadcast tape-delayed on CSTV. The
