For those of you who remember Gary "Jesus loves you" Jenkins, some
      bad news:

EX-INSURANCE AGENT SENT TO PRISON IN FRAUD CASE

      UNION-TRIBUNE

      7:01 a.m. February 8, 2008

EAST COUNTY COURTS: A former El Cajon insurance agent has been
sentenced to two years in prison for defrauding an elderly couple,
who have since died, of nearly $300,000.

Gary Michael Jenkins, 59, also was ordered by El Cajon Superior Court
Judge William J. McGrath to repay more than $291,000 to the estate of
      William and Dolores Marleau.
"It was everything they had in the world," McGrath said at a Jan. 16
      hearing.

Jenkins was convicted in December of theft from an elder dependent,
grand theft of personal property and forgery.

Deputy District Attorney Victor Barr said in court that in 1994, the
Marleau couple chose Jenkins to manage their finances and turned over
nearly $300,000 to him to invest.

During the next nearly 10 years, Jenkins took the money for his own
use rather than investing it as promised, Barr said. When Jenkins'
actions were discovered by a member of the couple's family, Jenkins
forged documents in a cover-up to show the money had been lost in bad
      investments, Barr said.

"At the end of their lives, they had nothing," Barr said.

Jenkins said he was "truly sorry" for what he did to the Marleaus.

"They trusted me to watch over their assets. I let them down,"
      Jenkins said.
