Due to a miscommunication, our revised by-laws were not posted to the
website before the business meeting. However, I took a dozen copies
and the eight of us who were there went over the revisions. Overall
they were very well received (we did a great job!), but the suggestion
was made to shift the elections to February for several logistical
reasons, including the awkward timing of an out-going officer having
to complete the year-end reports while the in-coming officer is
already "in place." Granted, this should not normally be a problem;
unlike some groups we generally have an extremely smooth transition
between officers. However, if we were to have a particularly
contentious election the timing would be problematic.
So, we will get our revisions on the website and announced on the
Populace list, as well as included in the paper Fort Knights. They
will then be discussed and voted on during the October business
meeting. That date and location is to be determined. I am hoping for
Georgetown on the 19th, but that has not been confirmed.
