Director, Information and Communication Technologies for Development (Ref.:
281) ($110,149 - $138,787 CAD) Ottawa, Canada
IDRC is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Director,
Information and Communication Technologies for Development (ICT4D) for the
Ottawa Head Office. This position reports to the Vice-President, Program and
Partnership Branch. The ICT4D program area complements the work of the
other three program themes: Environment and Natural Resource Management,
Social and Economic Policy and Innovtion, Policy and Science.
The incumbent directs the scientific and technical formulation and delivery
of the Centres overall program as it relates to the role of information and
communnication technologies for development in the context of development.
The individual selected for this challenging position will have:
a PhD or equivalent in a field directly related to the issues encompassed
by the science, Information and Communication Technologies for Development
theme 10 years of professional job-related experience Experience in
senior management, including the management of human and financial
Experience in the management and administration of research.
Experience in working in a developing country.
Experience in working with major international agencies or participating
in major international conferences on scientific, policy or program matters.
Experience in planning, initiating and developing ICT4D programs.
Bilingual (English and French). A third language will be an asset.
