      Quakes host Hispanic Heritage Night




      Fourth annual event to start prior to Saturday's match
      against New EnglandSan Jose Earthquakes Media Relations
      SAN JOSE -- The San Jose Earthquakes are proud to host the fourth annual
      Budweiser Hispanic Heritage Night on Saturday, July 24 at Spartan Stadium
      when the Quakes take on the New England Revolution at 7 p.m. PT. Hispanic
      Heritage Night (HHN) festivities will start at 5 p.m. and run up to
      kick-off. There will also be a pre-game and halftime recognition of Bay
      Area Hispanic Community Leaders.

      "This is going to be another great Hispanic Heritage Night,"
      Earthquakes president & general manager Alexi Lalas said. "We
      are excited to be able to recognize and honor the people and
      organizations that play a major role in helping the local Hispanic
      Community."

      The pre-game Hispanic Heritage Festival will take place from 5 - 7 p.m.
      on the North Field of Spartan Stadium and will include interactive Soccer
      Celebration elements as well as live performances by EMI Latin recording
      artist Chuy Jr., the star of the Urban Regional Movement. Latin
      Alternative Rock band Cambio de Piel will also perform at the HHN
      celebration.

      As part of the Hispanic Heritage Night celebration, the Earthquakes will
      honor MACSA, who for 37 years has enriched the lives and advanced the
      interest of the Santa Clara County Latino community by providing seniors,
      youths and families housing and educational services. The Quakes will
      also recognize PACT, which teaches its leaders the skills of civic
      participation. PACT provides members of the community with the skills to
      conduct meetings, give speeches or negotiate with public officials. The
      Santa Clara Chapter of the National Latino Peace Officers Association
      (NLPOA) will also be honored. The NLPOA raises funds, sponsors
      scholarships and serves as a role model for youths considering a career
      in the criminal justice system. The East Valley YMCA will be acknowledged
      for its part in aiding the Bay Area Hispanic Community.

      Local Earthquakes partner ARCA Financiera will also be present at the
      game Saturday night with information about their exciting new program
      Futbol Familia y Finanzas that is set to be launched next week.
