      Please read below for information about Winter offerings from the Contemporary Jewish Museum, including a bookmaking contest for children and teacher resources.

      Enter the 2013 Ezra Jack Keats
      Bookmaking Competition!
      The Contemporary Jewish Museum (CJM), San Francisco Unified School District, San Francisco Public Library (SFPL), and the Ezra Jack Keats Foundation are pleased to announce the second year of the Bay Area Ezra Jack Keats Bookmaking Competition! The competition promotes the art of original bookmaking in the classroom and invites students in grades K–12 to design, write, and create their own books. Winning books are showcased and winners receive prizes! Submissions are due February 14, 2014.

      Bookmaking Workshop and How to Enter This Year’s Competition
      Want your students to enter this year's Ezra Jack Keats Bookmaking Competition?  Attend one of these professional development sessions to learn more about the competition and to learn fun, satisfying bookmaking techniques for the classroom.  Workshops include refreshments and a resource packet.

      Middle and High School Teachers
      Thu, October 24 | 4–6:30pm 

      Simple yet sophisticated tunnel books with bookmaking artist Juliayn Coleman.

      Elementary School Teachers
      Thu, December 5 | 4–6:30pm

      Embellished accordion books with artist and maker extraordinaire Courtney Cerruti.
      (Includes a tour of Frog and Toad and the World of Arnold Lobel)
