      Subject: Children's book author/illustrator at MOCFA

      All are invited to -

      FOLKSY FAMILY SATURDAY - March 6

      In conjunction with the Museum's exhibition, Rhythm and Hues: Cloth and Culture of Mali, award-winning children's book author, illustrator and storyteller, Baba Wagué Diakité, will join us for a colorful presentation on his book illustrating process, with storytelling, booksigning, and snacks. Sessions start at 12pm, 2pm, and 4pm.

      Baba Wagué Diakité's books have received a Coretta Scott King Honor, an Ana ALA Notable Children's Book award, and a Center for Children's Books Blue Ribbon.  His best-sellers include:
      I Lost my Tooth in Africa
      The Magic Gourd
      The Hatseller and the Monkeys, and
      The Hunterman and the Crocodile

      And on MAY 1, join us in making your own bogolanfini mudcloth with Malian Barou Samaké, starting with a tour of the exhibition at 12pm.

      MOCFA's EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM offers culture- and curriculum-based hands-on workshops integrating slide shows, artifacts, and hands-on activities off-site, in addition to on-site exhibition tours.
