Group Description

This egroup lists social running activities planned by the Waukesha Hash House Harriers. Runners/walkers of all abilities are welcome. Most events occur in the Milwaukee area and some are dog-friendly (please confirm prior to bringing your pup).

What is hashing?

One or more “hares” start out running, leaving a trail of flour (or chalk) behind marking “trail”. The “hounds” (the rest of us) follow the trail trying to catch the hares. In theory, the hares mark trail clearly to cleverly outwit the pack, whilst using all their cunning and organizing “beer stops” along the trail to slow the pack.
This is not a race...but a game we play before (and while) we drink. At the end, everyone forms a “ceremonial circle”, sings bawdy songs and create excuses for their fellow hashers to chug beverages. There will be adult language and generally NC-17 situations.

Why hash?

socialize & meet new people ~ travel locally, nationally & internationally ~ exercise, but a break from your usual routine ~ explore different areas of metro Milwaukee ~ experience new bars ~ no membership fee, pay per event (usually $8 which covers beer)

Check out the latest "hareline|upcumming runs" in Messages for events, locations and times. For more info check out our website, our facebook page or e-mail any of the mismanagement.
