Lots of new folks interested in the Burn and Burner events, perhaps they will be down at the CBC tonight and feeling talkative. Come on down and have a pint or two of the good stuff with us.

How much do you know about the public art in Somerville? well, test your knowledge with this here handy-dandy map of the the art that is on public display in the 'Ville.

        http://somervilleartscouncil.org/artmap

Have you played on, or listened to any of the 75! artist-decorated pianos that are scattered around the city for only 6 more days? if not, you really should as they are pretty cool and it is certainly surprising how many random people can play the piano well. Sharon & I accosted passers-by and asked them to play for us. Perhaps a sign reading "Piano Players Wanted" that you can hold up would be useful...

        http://streetpianos.com/boston2013/

Speaking of art, Somerville has 2 cool programs that you, yes you, can partake in. One of them re-purposes old telephone booths and turns them into miniature museums or pieces of art:

        http://www.somervilleartscouncil.org/phone

And the other beautifies power switch boxes that you find at most intersections with a traffic light:

        http://www.somervilleartscouncil.org/switchbox

Get out there and do some art!

M&G tonight at the Cambridge Brewing Co.

7:30PM 'til late, join the crowd by the bar.

        Cheers,

        D

Corner of Mass Ave. & Roseland St., just South of Porter Sq., they are moving the old white church 100-feet to the right sometime real soon. The church is currently levitated on steel I-beams held up by great timber cribbings while it awaits a gentle shove to the South. Quite an impressive sight, actually.

The MIT chain reaction is great family, and maker, fun. Overseen by the one and only Arthur Ganson.

Hope that all of you who went enjoyed the 'Blacula' screening, I, unfortunately, was weighed down and shackled by the twin unfortunate webs of lies and deceits called "getting Shit Done" and thus never left the house. sigh....

How's the cold treating you? Perhaps by the end of the week, we can have a team of us roped together and attempt to cross the Charles on foot, or perhaps a ski-equipped canoe and wet-suits. Or dress like seals and swim in and out of blow-holes and bark at passersby and lunge threateningly at them as if to eat them. Or ginormous cryo-lobsters, or... Oh, the fun to be had...

If it all gets too much for you, come on down to the CBC this evening and we can discuss potential art projects for Burning Man and other Summer festivals. The "easy" time of the year is OVER!

So, there it is, after first seeing the shoots push through the frozen earth 3-weeks ago I have seen my first 2 blossoms, one, positively lovely in its nascent liveliness of the deepest blue belongs to the genus crocus, species undetermined. The second flower is a negatively lovely, bright, eye-catching orange and seems to only sprout on windshields, occasionally when you neglect to remember to move your vehicle for the large trashaluffaguss that comes down your side of the street every other week. So, 'tis the season, don't forget about street cleaning in your neighborhood...

Good thing that here, in the latter half of April we are going to have to watch out for a frost on Wednesday night here in the city. So, if you have already planted your garden, or have plants that you have just put outside after their long Winter cooped up inside, perhaps they should come in for the night tomorrow.

Don't forget that BMan theme camp "participation forms" are due in by April 30th.

So your favorite large maker space in Somerville, Artisan's Asylum is going to be offering grants. Check it out and see what you and AA can accomplish together. Grant applications are open until May 15th at 11:59PM and will result in the awarding of up to $2500 in Asylum services.  Announcements about grant recipients will be made the first week of May.  The application form can be found here:http://bit.ly/1qdCqMg

Come on down to the CBC tonight for various beers, cookies and cakes to celebrate all things getting older. The CBC will be 25 this year!

                    http://www.artweekboston.org/events/

Starting to feel like Autumn, what with the grey, wet days and the change in the leaf colors. Make sure to get out and pick some apples, or hike in the beautiful woods, or do just about anything before it gets too cold for you to venture out from your blankety cocoon.

Don't forget that HONK! Somerville is coming up real soon-like.

Come on down and join us for a pint as we watch the rain wash down the windows of the Cambridge Brewing Co. We will be there from about 7:30PM 'til late.

OK, Firefly is happening rather soon, so this is going to be brief. here are 2 weeks worth of events and there will be no announce next week, but if you happen to be in town, you can still have a pint at the CBC.

here goes, 7;30 'til late at the Cambridge Brewing Co.

                                  See you at the bar.
