      Asian-American A cappella??

Boston— People get ready! Listeners are praising the release of
      the
nation's first professional all Asian American SATB a cappella
compilation, featuring the most requested songs from the VariAsians
diverse repertoire of music. This CD contains songs that fuse Soul
and R&B with elements of traditional and modern East Asian music to
      produce an entirely new experience.

"We've worked extremely hard and are proud to have produced this
Asian American art piece. The diverse song selection represents the
varying taste of our members," stated Robin Lang, a member of the
VariAsians. "This CD captures the group's essence. The arrangements
are open and the soloists innovative. This style gives the group its
own unique flavor," added Huong Nguyen of Dorchester.

The group was found in Fall 2001 with a mission to employ their
members' collective identity as Asian Americans in order to create a
distinct repertoire of a cappella. Their main objective is to
pioneer a unique branch of Asian American music and contribute to the
richness and diversity of Asian Americans arts and experiences.
Currently, the VariAsians consist of ten members with roots from the
United States, Philippines, China, Malaysia, Vietnam, Japan, and
      Korea.

The CDs will be sold for $15.00. A portion of the proceeds will go to
the VariAsian Asian American Arts Scholarship Fund, which formally
will be revealed on November 20, 2003 at the Somerville Arts Theatre
during their fundraising concert. The scholarship will help support
and promote aspiring Asian American artists in pursuing the
performing arts. Only a limited number of CDs are available. If you
would like booking information or if you'd like to purchase a CD,
please email Variasians@... or call Binh Nguyen at (508) 308-
      1348.
