Stoneham Theatre is seeking 20 different A Cappella groups, based in the Boston area, who would be interested in being the 20 minute opening act for one of the 20 performances of the theatre's New England premiere of Perfect Harmony, which runs from September 9 through October 3, 2010. Each group will be included in the theatre's extensive marketing and PR campaigns pertaining to this particular show. It's an opportunity for each group to spread the word about their own music and to possibly realize future gigs, especially since each group will be able to sell their wares and distribute any promotional materials during intermission and after the show in the theatre's lobby. The theatre seats 350 and since Perfect Harmony will then take its cast to New York City for an extended off-Broadway run, the opportunities for exposure could be limitless.
Those who are interested in this chance to get the word out about their group should contact Carol A. Dempsey, Director of Audience Development, 781-279-7885 x105, carol@....
Perfect Harmony is a glee-fully cut-throat a cappella comedy, directed by Andrew Grosso and written by Grosso and The Essentials. The Acafellas have won 18 a cappella National Championships, but this year the Ladies in Red think it's their turn to shine. Perfect Harmony exposes the cut-throat competition of glee clubs and the even more cut-throat competition of high school. The show premiered to raves at the 2006 NY Fringe Festival and contains mature language.
