Re: San Diego bound
- Hello Alex:
Hopefully the weather should be a little warmer by the end of the
month. Are you going to be alone or with your wife? There is so much
to see and do in San Diego. Even though it does not get as much
recognition as Los Angeles, San Diego has gone through changes in the
last 10 years and so much for the better.
I only live about an hour north of San Diego but I rarely go down
there since COMMUTER traffic is horrible. Whenever I have a chance
to go it is always nice to visit.. There's so many great restaurants
and great foods there also.
The downtown now is a nice area and newly vitalized for both business
and just to hang out. There are so many beaches in and around San
Diego if that what you like .. there are many sightseeing 'places' to
go to as well as any other big city.
If you have time, try to go to Coronado and Balboa Park.
Coronado is an island and it has an old hotel, the world famous HOTEL
Here is the Balboa Park site:
"....In Balboa Park you can explore sites from the San Diego Zoo to
the San Diego Museum of Art to the Old Globe Theatres. Balboa Park is
open year-round and located less than five miles northeast of the
airport and downtown San Diego.."
Check out the other San Diego area links on this page:
(It is one of my fun sites)
Interactive Map of San Diego..
If you would like to visit the wine-country, there are several of
them in San Diego area.... Ours is an hour away and we have about 17
Let me know if you need any other information.

to it. I won't have much free time but was thinking of trying to get
to the zoo as it has a worldwide reputation. Any recommendations of
things to do (or avoid)?
