To Karen and Hello to All
I just rejoined this list after
having to be away for several
months. I want to say hello to
everyone - haven't seen much
activity lately but am guessing
everyone is either busy reading
<g> or vacationing.
I have one immediate question -
in reading the archives, I noticed
Karen had mentioned a book on
a women's pilgrimage during the
Middle Ages. Would you please
post the title and author for this
book - I am extremely interested
in finding out about this.
As for me, I am in my Sharyn
MacCrumb period - I had read
several of hers a while back, but
am now in the process of
finishing all of hers so I can go
on to the next author :)
- Howdy! I'd be happy to give you the title of the book...
_Memoirs of a Medieval Woman_. The main character's name is Margery Kempe.
It is a WONDERFUL book. I can't remember the author's name at the moment --
I don't have the book with me right now, but at least I remembered the title!
This book combines Kempe's memoirs with the historical perspective which the
author gives. I am currently looking for the original version of Kempe's
in Middle English.
I'll let you know if/when I find it.
