Dear All, I am having problems to interface a triac with avr. Actually I want to drive the 100 watts bulb.I have also used triac drive MOC3041 but no result achieve. Any suggestion and cooperation will be appreciated.  Regards. Muhammad Sadiq Asgher

From the diagram you uploaded I see you are having difficulty designing the circuit. There are a couple things you might try. First, do an internet search for "triac circuits". You will find many you can just copy. Second, you would need to do some study to learn the basics of electronic theory, and then you could design your own circuits. That may take too much time, so the first may well be your best option.

The circuit you show us has some serious problems:
1- The driver transistor is connected directly across VCC, so if (when) it turns on it will short out the power supply. = smoke!!
2- The gate of the triac is connected directly to VCC, so will never see a switching action from the transitor.
3-The LED in series with the transistor base may not allow the transister to turn on, depending on the transistor's base characteristics and the size of resistor you put in the circuit. Transistors are current controlled devices, so you would need to calculate the required base clurrent to drive the transistor into saturation, and then design the input cirucuit to provide that current.
4- It would be wise to isolate the AC power from the DC circuit of the uController. =Less smoke!!

You have an interesting project, I know there is information on the internet about precisely what your are trying to do, so a little searching will solve your problem.

Ever, looks like a good circuit. Will the 3031 handle the 220VAC? The data sheet says max 250V peak, and 220VAC has a peak of ^300. Perhaps the 3041 would be a safer choice?? I have not built the circuit, so if you have done so and it works, then no problem.
