RE:July 19th Meeting
- Hi Everyone- Just wanted to let Janet Takahashi know how much I appreciated
her sharing of her work and her ideas with us on Saturday. Also wanted to
thank Patrice for taking up the helm in organizing these meetings and to
Virginia Gardner for allowing us to take over her house on one of the
hottest days yet in Santa Barbara. Janet showed us a book she had made that
had a very interesting binding. It was the one that had a dark red binding
and I believe she said it was going to be a book she used for her wonderful
watercolors. Each page of watercolor paper was attached to a binding and
then this binding was bound. The outside of the book looked fairly
traditional. Does anyone have directions on this type of binding?
See you all in August at Crane.
- I was fascinated by that book structure too. I really examined it carefully
to try to "figure it out" but I was less than successful If anyone can guide
us through this, I would love to hear ir.
Virginia Gardner was a generous hostess to our meeting and I enjoyed seeing
so many new faces in our group. Welcome, book artists!
What a lovely day we all shared together! Thanks, Patrice, for putting it
all together for us.
I'm into day 4 of my month in Kauai. My two older grandchildren are with me
and keep me busy. Rest of the family comes and goes during the month. I'm
gathering images to use in a book structure I've recently tried. Can't even
vacate without thoughts of making my next book! I'm definitely hooked on this art
