      > The fourth Art of the Book exhibit will be held this year from August 25th to October 7th.
      > This year the Artist Union Gallery will exhibit the show at the beautiful former K. B. Roberts
      > building at 89 S. California Street in Ventura . This will be our temporary location and is made
      > possible by the Henning’s By-Pass Trust.
      >
      > Curator: Inés Monguió
      > Juror: Elena Mary Siff
      >
      > All and any artist books in any material and any format will be considered.
      >
      > In past exhibits, artists have shown books from miniscule limited editions to Installation-size work.
      > Materials thus far have included canvas, wood, cloth, Tyvek, Plexiglas, metal, clay, organic materials,
      > stone, coffee filters, video, and of course, paper. Content has ranged from travel journals, through
      > abstracts with no text, to “The Invisible Man.” There have been books encased in handmade paper,
      > and “censorable” books with pages that could not be opened. There are few restrictions, and that
      > is what makes book art such an interesting genre.
      >
      > In addition to book art, the exhibit will include two and three dimensional art that features text as an
      > integral part of the work. Poems in broadsheet form have been accepted, as well as paintings and
      > prints with poetry or text that is meant to be read in the context of the piece.
