Two Printmaking Classes at Adult Ed.
- Starting on Saturday, January 13, 2007, Sara Norquay is teaching two different printmaking
classes: Printmaking for Book Artists and Safe Printmaking.
Come a bit early to ensure your place in the class.
"Printmaking for Book Artists" offers participants an opportunity to learn simple
printmaking processes while creating at least two beautiful books. Several book structures
will be taught along with 5 different printmaking techniques. The etching presses will be
used for dry point and simple litho image transfers, and hand printing processes will be
used for relief, stencil, and monotype.
Materials fee is $40, and the class runs from 9:00 am to 12:00 am for nine sessions.
"Safe Printmaking" offers an etching (or relief) process without toxic solvents. The steel
plate is photo sensitive and is etched in water. Clean-up is with baby oil. This printmaking
class is for all kinds of artists with any amount of experience: photographers, drawers,
painters or collage artists.
Materials fee is $45, and the class runs from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm for nine sessions.
