QUEEN OF ARTS
SHOW & SALE
We are pleased to announce that the eighth annual Queen of Hearts Benefit Show and Sale
will be held Elverhoj Museum November 10th, 11th and 12th. The show opens on Friday
evening, November 10 with a reception and sale from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. The sale continues
Saturday November 11 from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Sunday November 12 from 11:00
AM to 3:00 PM. There is no charge for admission.
The benefit sale was started by local artist Syd McCutcheon with a few friends selling at
her home in Ballard. It has grown to include over thirty artists and craftspeople. The
Museum venue will allow the artists and the museum to reach a larger and broader
audience. From unique folk to fine art, guests will find a range of prices and tastes for
everyone on their holiday shopping list. And don't forget a special treasure for yourself!
The participating artists work in a variety of mediums, utilizing various techniques. Pottery
might be pit-fired, hand-built or thrown. Jewelry artists are creating wearables using
vintage and contemporary beads, resin, and crystal with cold connection or torch
construction. Felters are creating jewelry and table runners. Original garden art is created
from steel, recycled or found wood. Unique accessories by fiber artists utilizing antique
kimonos, hand painted fabric, and/or hooked wool are available to adorn your body or
your home. Glass work, ethnic art, collage and paintings will also be featured. A selection
of handmade holiday ornaments and garlands will be available to brighten your home.
The artists all support the Elverhoj Museum with a donation and also give a percentage of
their sales or make a donation to Domestic Violence Solutions in Lompoc.
