      Subject: Book Art Criticism

I suggest that everyone read David Pagel's review of the current artists'
books exhibition at the Getty Research Institute in the Los Angeles Times
      (June 7):.

      http://www.calendarlive.com/galleriesandmuseums/cl-et-artistbook7jun07,2,2158576.story

      It concludes:

"Artists' books function differently. In a sense, they provide the worst of
both worlds, replacing the cheap accessibility of books and the readily
shared pleasures of publicly presented art with the fetishized preciousness
      of collectibles."
