The Columbus Center for Book and Paper Arts/European
Papers, Ltd. is having a call for entries for Artist Trading Cards
(ATCs) for its inaugural gallery show this summer, "House of
Cards." The exhibit will be the first ever ATC exhibit in the
United States. ATCs are mixed media artworks that measure 2
      ½" x 3 ½".

The emerging art media of ATCs will be sole focus of this exhibit
which runs from July 30 - October 1, 2005. The exhibit includes
an opening reception, evening programs and trading sessions.
A unique display allows for viewing of cards from floor to ceiling,
with 10' high walls created from Artist Trading Cards. The Center
is located in downtown Columbus, Ohio at 539 East Town

The deadline for submitting entries is Thursday, June 30, 2005.
The submission fee is $7 and may include up to five ATC

A show catalogue will include all entries and will be cross
referenced by country of origin. Awards will be given for Best of
Show, as well as in the categories of Beauty, use of Fabric
and/or Fiber, and Humor. The exhibit is curated to determine
placement; however all entries will be included in the show and
will become part of a traveling exhibit. In early 2006, the exhibit
will travel to St Marys, Georgia for display at the Creative Palette
artist's gathering. All submitting artists receive a
hand-numbered color exhibit postcard and copy of the show

"ATCs have an interesting history in Europe and are now really
catching on with artists in North America," said the Center's
Lisa Ohmer. "We are excited to be hosting this first ever exhibit
      here in America."

The exhibition's goal is two-fold, both artwork that inspires,
makes us think, is beautiful and/or well-crafted; and the artistic
participation of people, of all levels, from all over the world.
Anyone can enter from professional artists and designers to
those just beginning their Artist Trading Card journey, including
children. A special children's wall is planned within the exhibit
to inspire school groups and charm visitors. ATCs and entry fees
may be sent to: European Papers, Ltd. /ATC; 539 East Town
Street, Carriage House; Columbus, OH 43215.

Details about the exhibit and entry forms can be found at

The exhibition's opening reception is planned for Saturday
evening, July 30, 2005. More information on evening programs,
trading sessions and adult and children's educational
opportunities will be posted online closer to the event.

The Columbus Center for Book and Paper Arts includes paper
