The Los Angeles Book Arts Center invites you to a free talk by Barbara
Hodgson, a Vancouver-based artist known for her wonderfully
illustrated novels, which are brought to life by an amazing array of
archival photographs, antique postcards and rare engravings, including
"The Tattooed Map," "Opium: A Portrait of the Heavenly Demon," "The
Sensualist," and a fabulous imaginary guidebook called "Paris Out of
Hand," written in collaboration with her friends, Nick Bantock, and
Karen Elizabeth Gordon, author of such classics as "The Transitive
Vampire" and "The Well-Tempered Sentence." Join us for her talk about
the process of creating artists' books

This event will be held on Thursday, May 26th, at 7:00 pm. The
location is New Roads High School, 3131 West Olympic Blvd., Santa
Monica. We hope to see you there!
