My buddy being paranoid, with good reason wouldn't divulge any real trade tricks. I was wondering if the peel ply should be wrapped around the laminate or maybe adhered to the inside of the tube? Or as asked earlier, would the excess resin just be forced out at the seems?

Into the peel-ply, most likely. Or use pre-preg.

I wonder where the excess resin would go? Out the split in the pipe. Sounds like a good idea.
