Hannes, I am not sure about a frameless Zephyr, but Dave Carnell
mentions that he has removed the center frames from @ 16ft boats by
placing 2 3/4 inch thick gunwales from 1 inch stock on top of one
another topped off by a 1 1/2 inch (again of 1 inch stock)gunwale on
top of that. Carnell makes note of it in his Featherwind plans
somewhere. Michalak calls it the "Carnell Flange." I hope this helps.
