      FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

      COMMOTION RECORDS TO RELEASE SOUNDTRACK
TO DAVID WAIN’S THE TEN ON AUGUST 28TH

Music from Craig Wedren Sets the Stage …

(August 14, 2007, New York, NY) —Commotion Records is pleased to announce the release of the soundtrack to the feature film, The Ten on August 28, 2007.  The film, directed by David Wain and co-written by David Wain and Ken Marino (The State, Wet Hot American Summer) is a comedy spoof examining ten stories of what happens when each of the Ten Commandments is broken.  The soundtrack features original songs and score by former Shudder to Think frontman Craig Wedren (Wet Hot American Summer, High Art).

The Ten is an innovative comedy that weaves ten stories into one. Each of the ten vignettes tells the story of the Ten Commandments in a unique way, interconnecting until they reach their climactic conclusion: a classic song and dance cavalcade ala 1940’s Hollywood, performed by the cast.

A rocking ride through the mind of one of today’s most creative composers, Craig Wedren spans numerous musical genres to connect the ten vignettes, each one reflecting the breaking of a different one of the Ten Commandments.  In addition to the eclectic mix of music, the soundtrack features dialogue from the all-star cast that includes Paul Rudd, Winona Ryder, Famke Jensen, Oliver Platt, Gretchen Mol, Jessica Alba and others. The album is as surprising and whimsical as the film.

Composer Craig Wedren has released a variety of spectacular soundtracks over the last 10 years, including High Art, School of Rock, and Roger Dodger.  As the former front man of the band Shudder To Think, Wedren has built a fan-base with his pop style influences and musical virtuosity.

“David and I put together an incredible team of musicians, composers, and arrangers to create a wholly unique, wildly varied musical experience,” describes Wedren.  “In addition to the amazing cast who appear on the record (Paul Rudd, Winona Ryder, Liev Schreiber, to name a few), members of the bands OK GO, TV on the Radio, Vampire Weekend, Guided By Voices, Shudder To Think, and Citizens Band all lend a voice -- and musical comedian Steven Lynch sings a sweet-ass disco song, backed by Rashida Jones (of ‘The Office’).”

“With The Ten,” said David Wain, “Craig takes his game to a new level.  Working with a diverse group of collaborators and vocalists, he has created an epic soundtrack for a movie that is really ten movies in one.”

Commotion Records has a history of great soundtrack releases including Mysterious Skin, Happy Endings, Code 46, The Cooler, and Oscar Winning film Hotel Rwanda. The Ten, along with Commotion releases, Broken English (Directed by Zoe Cassavetes with music from Scratch Massive, I Am Kloot and Juan Trip) and Vacancy (composed by Paul Haslinger), will be in stores on August 28, 2007.
