Forest Wagtail - Grey Headed Lapwing
- Hello Folks
Today In the Morning I along with Sunil Kadam decided to visit
Padle Village . Padle is small village located on the outskirts of Dombivli
City (Land of Birders ),District :Thane,Maharashtra .Padle has small
forest patch which is a healthy thick forest ,best place to sight
Flycatchers specially Asian Paradise Flycatcher ,also Warbler,Sunbird, and
many other small birds.Cutting the forest edge is small river flows which
further adds to Ulhas River.The River Banks is the best place to sight
Waders. Even the rarest Winter Visitor to India like Grey Headed Lapwing
have been recorded here last year and today.Also one of best place in
Dombivli to sight various Birds of Prey like Spotted Eagle and specially
In our Today trip we were very lucky to sight some of Rare
species seen in our Region .As we started with River Bed ,The Queen "Grey
Headed Lapwing " enjoying the Morning breakfast along with her sisters ,Red
Wattled Lapwing and other long cousins like Common Greenshank and
Sandpipers.And then in the Forest we were welcomed by a Asian Paradise
Flycatcher white Male ,then followed by FOREST WAGTAIL ,a Lifer for me and
many more .

Asian Paradise Flycatcher.
Black Naped Monarch Flycatcher.
Red Throated Flycatcher.
Blyth's Reed Warbler.
Spotted / Common Redshank
Greater Spotted Eagle.
Oriental Honey Buzzard.
Black/Black Eared /Black Shouldered Kite.
Western Marsh Harrier.
