NEW SAVANNA: Literature, Form, and Computation
- Norm Holland¹s been hosting a conversation about literature at his
Psychology Today blog. He started out discussing whether or not literature
is a biologically adaptive and the discussion wandered into matters of
meaning, as such conversations often do. In the course of the discussion
Holland asserted that a "purely physiological level" of explanation (brain
activity) can tell us little about how people construct 'meaning' from
texts. In this post I reject such a distinction.
