Mentioned before that this weekend is perhaps the most important of all – and the ‘middle’ teams are battling each other.  This is what you get – barn-burner 5-set matches…now that’s Big 10 volleyball!

The win by the Illini puts them in solid position for a nice NCAA seed.  Hats off to the Hoosiers for coming back from 0-2 to win a thriller in 5.  MSU just jet-propelled themselves back into NCAA consideration by beating the fading Badgers.

As for Halloween, PSU is just scary (good).  Big seeds lost this week; Nebraska went down, Texas went down, and as Doug mentioned only WSU is still undefeated.  They nearly lost in 5 to Drake, BTW, just last week.  PSU just keeps on winning 3-0 no matter what.  Scary.

Wisconsin continues to struggle ... and how 'bout that fifth set score in Ill.-Mich?  That must have been exciting.

Earlier this week, Nebraska lost to Colorado in 4 sets in Boulder, making Penn State and Wichita State the lone remaining undefeated teams.

Some very important Saturday matches. Minnesota must win at Indiana to keep pace in the polls, and Purdue can t afford a second loss to Michigan this year,

Some very important Saturday matches. Minnesota must win at Indiana
to keep pace in the polls, and Purdue can't afford a second loss to
Michigan this year, and must defend their home court.

For those interested there's a very nice article on PSU's Nicole
Fawcett on the Big Ten website.
