To Participants in the Federal Facility Cleanup Dialogue and other Stakeholders:

EPA's Federal Facilities Restoration and Reuse Office, along with our federal partners, is pleased to invite you to participate in a Web-based meeting which will showcase new developments in information sharing tools.  Please join us to see how federal agencies are currently making environmental cleanup information available and to explore enhanced data sharing tools.

      Webinar:
Showcasing New Developments in Information Sharing Tools
      1:00 – 4:00 PM. (eastern)
      Thursday, September 20, 2012

This Webinar has been developed in response to stakeholder input from the Federal Facility Cleanup Dialogue meetings, specifically it relates to the need for more accessible and useable information about cleanup progress at federal sites.  There will be demonstrations of currently available information sharing tools by the Department of Energy, Department of the Interior, the Navy and EPA.  In addition, the Socrata Company will demonstrate enhanced data sharing tools as part of the Open Government Platform.  Following the presentations, there will be an opportunity for you to provide feedback and to talk about your information needs.  We will use the feedback to help develop a set of principles that agencies can use when sharing electronic information with the public.
      Webinar presentations:
      · Department of the Navy: Management and Monitoring Approach
      ·
Department of the Interior: Central Hazardous Materials Fund Mapping Tool and Abandoned Mine Lands Portal
      ·
Department of Energy: Geospatial Environmental Mapping System
      ·
EPA: Superfund Site Information and Toxics Release Inventory Data
      ·
      Socrata: The Open Government Platform

We hope that those who wish to participate will use the Web-based platform. However, we will accommodate others, as needed, by opening conference lines and providing materials.  Please contact Dianna Young of my staff to let us know of your specific needs or to ask any other questions.  You may contact her at
      young.dianna@... or (703) 603-0045.
