WHY: In San Francisco, more than 150,000 people live at or below 150% of the federal poverty level and are in need of food. Need is especially high during the holidays.
This year, the San Francisco Food Bank is on track to distribute 41.5 million pounds of food to meet an ever-growing need in the San Francisco community. As unemployment continues to soar, need is especially high during the holiday season. PG&E, APRI and the San Francisco Housing Authority are teaming up once again to help fill the need.
