Permanent Biological Science Technician (Insects) GS-5/7.
U. S. citizenship required.This technician position is in support of on-going research on the systematics, biodiversity and biogeography of non-Apis bees at the Bee Biology and Systematics Lab in Logan, Utah. The incumbent actively participates in the project by maintaining the approximately one-million specimen U. S. National Pollinating Insects Collection including mounting, labeling, sorting, and storing specimens; maintaining the associated specimen-level relational database; identifying bees using existing keys and the reference collection; and assisting with field studies. Duties may also include creating scientific illustrations and using GIS software.
