      Greetings Bee Folk!

The Urban Bee Lab at the University of California, Berkeley would like to invite you to participate in this years Jepson Herbarium Workshop: "California's Native Bees:  Biology, Ecology, and Identification".  This year's workshop will take place from June 4-8 at the Hastings Reserve in the Carmel Valley.  We are extending the workshop this year to include more identification work, and a chance to collect bees at the reserve, as well as in a nearby wildlife habitat garden.  Dr. Robbin Thorp from UC Davis will be teaching, as well as Rollin Coville, expert bee photographer, and the rest of the gang from the Urban Bee Lab, Dr. Gordon Frankie, Sara Leon Guerrero, and Jaime Pawelek. This will be a great course if you are looking to learn more about native bee biology and ecology, how to build gardens to attract bees, bee photography, and how to start identifying those wondrous creatures.

For more information on the course and how to sign up please visit:

We hope to see you in June!
