It's always the little things, like having NO CLUE where my second scope probe is, or realizing I only have the BNC to BNC cable for my function generator on my bench (I KNOW I have BNC to mini grabber cables somewhere).
I gotta find the dumb cables... Of all the dumb things...
Doesn't help that I went to bed around 6 AM the other night. My Sunday was shot, didn't even get up tip nearly 4PM!
Preliminary testing though, it would seem the outside edge screws are possibly more critical than I might have thought. I don't wanna torque things too tightly, but I did have some effective opens on the edge most memristors, where a light squeeze at the edge of the board brought them into conduction. I could do it by tightening the screw, but I don't wanna risk over tightening the ones in the center, so I'll plan on edge screws from now on. Or I'll tighten the screw. We'll just have to see how things are effected. This IS a prototype after all. Worst case scenario, is I have to unscrew everything scrape the sulfide and reapply sulfur, if I damage the sulfide layer. Heck, at this point, a tie wrap may be all I need to secure torque on the edges.
I'll probably try to wire up the LED test, similar to the home made memristor video, at least to see if it's capable of that. If I get total conduction, then I may have over torqued the screws and crushed the sulfide enough to let the aluminum make a weak contact to the copper beneath.
I'll be crossing my fingers. Sadly, i work tonight and wednesday, and I'll be busy Tuesday. I might have time Thursday, and this coming weekend I work both days. Of course I also have the lab job, so I may not come back to it till I find my cables, and get my next free weekend... Maybe... I really wanna try this!
