      This invitation is for you to join the bead study group in Yahoo.

      The Bead Study Group is sponsored by The Center For Beadwork &
      Jewelry Arts (www.landofodds.com/beadschool) in Nashville,
      Tennessee. The group is an on-going discussion group related to
      the study project called "How To Bead A Rogue Elephant - Wandering
      The Paths of A Bead Artist". Anyone, anywhere may join our
      discussion group. You do not have to be associated with CBJA.
      This group is moderated and does not accept off-topic posts.

      The current study in 2005-2006 is focusing on the ideas involved
      in "Contemporizing" traditional beadwork. How do you keep beadwork
      essential and alive? As text, we are using The Art of Beadwork by
      Valerie Hector. In September of 2006, Valerie will be conducting
      a 2-day workshop here.

      We will be comparing and contrasting, and experimenting with,
      traditional and contemporary concepts of color, pattern, texture and
      design, as well as stitchery techniques.

      Advanced Bead Study: The purposes of the study group are manifold,
      including to encourage the exploration of new methods of beading,
      experimentation with variations on traditional techniques, and the
      study of culture-specific beading techniques.

      The Center for Beadwork & Jewelry Arts in Nashville, Tennessee,
      begun in 2000 and associated with the shop Be Dazzled Beads, is an
      organized program of classes in beadwork, jewelry-making and other
      related disciplines. CBJA takes a very design-oriented,
      developmental approach in its curriculum, and differs considerably
      from the very typical craft-oriented training programs across the

      CBJA has an Advanced Study Group that meets regularly on the first and third Wednesdays of each month, from 1-3pm. Anyone may join these groups at any time.
      There are no fees.

      CBJA extends its discussions to the world at-large through this
