Folks--- "From The Top" is a weekly NPR program featuring young---teen-agers and younger---performers (mostly, but not exclusively, of classical music). It's a great program. This week's program, from Princeton University's Richardson Auditorium, features the American Boychoir (incidentally celebrating its 75th anniversary!). And the American Boychoir has a Barbershop quartet! And they sing Einar Pedersen's "I Love To Hear That Old Barbershop Style". The Boychoir also sings Deke Sharon's arrangement of "When I'm 64". And, the Boychoir ends the show with Sousa's "The Stars And Stripes Forever". The complete show is at:http://www.fromthetop.org/content/show-272-princeton-new-jersey The entire show is worth a listen, but to hear just the three pieces mentioned above (with spoken introductions):o Barbershop Style - at 8:28o 64 - at 22:12o Stars and Stripes - at 54:28 There's also a 3-minute Video Scrapbook on the show's page which includes a few snippets of the quartet, including the tag. It's always good to hear Barbershop on the national media. All the best. Many thanks. Rechords, Charlie Hill In hot and muggy N'Awlins...
