I don't know where you are but if in the south there is a couple of places to buy used sailboat equipment. For example I have recently purchased a 20 gallon black plastic diesel fuel tank for $30. It is in good condition with all fittings and the fill sensor tested good. Next time I go back to the store I will ask if they have more of the same. If you live up in Canada what designation should I look for to show it will be approved for your use.

I bought this plastic tank as I am in the process of removing the steel tank that came with my Bayfield and installing two smaller tanks. Getting that tank out is a real problem so far as it was glassed in place. But rotted at the bottom.

This past weekend I visited a Bayfield in Mobile, AL. Its bright red hull, white decks with tanbark sails caught my attention along with everyone else on the docks. It was that was finished by a master marine cabinet specialist from Ontario, Canada. It was the finest workmanship I have ever seen on a sailboat. Everything was blonde mahogany and everything fit perfect.

          Hullo grbest,

Be carefull before you go moving a lot of weight around the boat as you will change you centre of gravity thereby altering the sailing characteristics of your lovely Bayfield.
